Sirosky Awarded DARPA AlIAS Phase 3 Contract to Increase Aircraft Autonomy
Recently Sirosky a Lockheed martin company. They have recently been chosen to another contract for phase 3 of the defense advances research project’s agent aircrew Labor in cockpit automation system program.
This DARPA’s ALIAS program is made to make it a lot more convenient for pilots. Its main goals is to lower the workload that they have and to reduce augment mission performance. It is also made to improve aircraft safety and reliability. So in collaboration with Sirosky they have a better chance of achieving their goals and to improve and expand on their development goals. Sirosky main purpose is to integrate their Matrix Technology successfully and that is going to be integrated into their 3rd phase. Their goal is to expand any possible capabilities that have developed and have been developing through a tailorable autonomy kit. They are also working on utilizing Matrix which holds a capability toolkit which includes hardware and software as well as multi spectral sensors that enable scalable automation.
Mark Miller, vice President of Sirosky Engineering and technology mentioned Our work with DARPA has continued to grow and our team is excited to begin Phase 3 on the ALIAS program. Our autonomy capabilities will help pilots in high workload and degraded visual environments ultimately increasing safety and efficiency," he also said that” We have developed this flexible technology with safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in mind to support ALIAS. We deliberately want our customers to can determine the best utilization of the technology.
Pilots can choose to engage autonomy to help operate, dynamically plan, adjust and/or execute a complete spectrum of responsibilities allowing the operators to better focus on the designated mission at hand” Sirosky is sure that in a timely manner they are able to offer operators to fly safely, reliably and affordably in optimally piloted modes.
